Rev. Billy McCormick

Fr. Billy McCormick is originally from outside of Pittsburgh, PA and grew up attending a St. Stephen’s Anglican church there. He went to Vanderbilt University where he studied Physics and Secondary Education. After graduation he spent a year in East Asia doing missionary work with Cru (formerly Campus Crusade for Christ), then joined Cru staff serving at colleges in Greensboro and Winston-Salem, North Carolina. While he was launching a Cru movement at Wake Forest, Billy reached out to Fr. Tom Bost, the Rector at Church of the Good Shepherd, to see if they would be able to partner with the movement. At one of those Cru meetings, Billy met Katie Sallie. Soon after, Billy and Katie started dating, and a year later they were married. Katie is a registered nurse.  In the summer of 2020 Billy left staff with Cru, started seminary, and joined staff with Church of the Good Shepherd.

More importantly, Billy and Katie’s first child, Ev (short for Evelyn, now 5) was born. Two years later, Ginny (short for Virginia, now 3) would be born. Both girls love to run, climb, and play with reckless abandon, and bring a lot of joy to the McCormick household.

Billy was ordained to the deaconate in August 2023, and the priesthood in May 2024. He graduated with an MDiv from Reformed Theological Seminary in Charlotte in December 2024. Since January he has been serving as the Associate Rector at Church of the Good Shepherd. Billy loves to read, cheer for Pittsburgh sports teams, and spend time with his family.
